The Deputy Commissioners office premises here will be shifted to the sinking Government workshop site shortly and the government has given its nod to move papers.

The Deputy Commissioners office is now situated at Fort premises and the archeology department has been forcing government to shift the offices. Earlier five acres of land was identified near Golf grounds to build the office and rupees nine crores were also sanctioned. Since the place is a bit far from town and produce inconvenience to public, the revenue department was looking for new premises.

The Government workshop, started in the year 1954 was functioning extremely well with about 45 workers. As the days rolled by, the workshop begun to sink in efficiency and business. Presently, it is not functioning and only seven staff continues to sit in the office, idle. The government has proposed to shift the workshop elsewhere and build a new complex to house DE, AC and other offices. The workshop has 2.2 acres of land.
