MALLALLI FALLS IN FULL SWING

Madikeri July 25: Mallalli falls flowing in full swing at Mallalli in Somwarpet thaluk. Since three days, torrential rain increased the flow of water in the falls.Govt. has built steps to visit the falls at a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs recently. Road is also widened in 600 metres length from Hanchanahalli to mallalli.But to reach the falls Jeep is the only mode of vehicle as the area is hilly shaped. The village development committee is maintaining the area and the committee has requested the tourists to avoid throwing plastic bags and arrack bottles near the falls.

The average rainfall so for this year in Kodagu is 872 m.ms. Last year it was 1698 mms.It has just reached 50% compared to last year.
