CYANIDE MOHAN BROUGHT TO MADIKERIMadikeri March 14, 2010 The serial killer cyanide Mohan, former teacher was brought to Madikeri for investigation. Mohan has allegedly killed about twenty women in various places and about four of them at Kodagu. The CID DySP Purushottam told this correspondent that Mohan was in Mangalore prison under judicial custody and he is taken to police custody again for recovery of properties and clues. Brought here yesterday, Mohan was taken to the bustand and other areas where he used to lure and take women rape them and kill them by administering cynide. Purushottam also told that they have recovered jewels used by the deceased and hidden by the accused. The accused has allegedly killed four women in Kodagu and has confessed to the crime. One Baby Nayka was found dead at madikeri bustand during 2008, Sharada during 2009, January and Vinutha during September 2009 and Jayalakshmi from Kumble during 2009 May at Kushalnagar bustand under mysterious circumstances. The investigation has revealed that all the deaths were occurred due to the intake of cyanide. The accused would use the girls in hotel rooms and would add cyanide in eatables and give them to eat in bustand and escape. The victims would fall dead painlessly and the society was under the impression the deaths were happening under natural circumstances. The CID officer said that the investigation will carry on for few more days and they have brought Mohan to Madikeri yesterday. He was also taken to Government hospital for a checkup. The hospital sources said that the police department wanted a certificate SPEAKER ADVICES TO GROW MORE SANDAL WOODThe speaker K.G.Bopaiah has urged people to grow more sandalwood trees. Inaugurating a seminar on growing sandal wood at gowda samaj here yesterday, organized by Krishika Foundation, bopaiah regretted that we are unble to protect sandalwood which is rarely seen now. He said that the once stringent rules and regulations by the government had forced people to uproot even a small sandalwood tree for the fear of theft and cases. The government used to book cases against owners even if a sandal wood tree was stolen from their estates. Bopaiah said that the rules are now flexible and the government will buy the trees and people should come farward to grow more of them. Warning that smuggling and selling it illegally will land culprits in jail, Bopaiah said that the law shoild be more people friendly. KILLED IN ACCIDENT;An estate labourer succumbed to a car accident at Virajpet. According to police, one person was arrested and a car was seized on hit and run case. The driver H.M.Satish had hit a group of three pedestrians at Virajpet and injured them The wounded were shifted to hospital. The seriously injured Swamy, 35 was shifted to a hospital at Mysore where he succumbed yesterday. |
